The Penn Foster Career School offers over forty different distance education programs, including many in the health field. The college offers the flexibility of studying online, in print with textbooks that are sent to the home, or a combination of both.
Specifically, the school offers a dental assistant program that prepares students for a career in the dental office where they will be expected to know how to manage schedules, appointments and patients' records. Topics in this program include dental terminology, anatomy, diseases, radiology, anesthesiology and dental emergencies. Upon completion of the program and compliance with the student's state licensing requirements, students begin a career in private dental offices, clinics and federal and state agencies.
