Online Electrician Degrees

Online college programs teach the basics of the electrician trade and award a career certificate and credits that students can apply toward an associate's or bachelor's degree. Most electricians belong to a local building trade (the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers or the National Electrical Contractors Association) whose lengthy apprenticeship includes hands-on training. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, electricians nationwide earned a median hourly salary of $22.32 in 2008.
