Online Theology Colleges

Although commonly thought of as educational programs for would-be pastors, ministers and priests, theology degrees can also prove beneficial for individuals who work in church administration, Christian education, religious counseling or Christian non-profit groups. A small number of accredited colleges offer online theology programs. Culminating in both undergraduate and graduate degrees, these online programs allow students to complete the necessary course requirements from home, often at their own pace and schedule.
  1. Saint Joseph's College of Maine

    • Founded in 1976 by the Sisters of Mercy order of the Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph's College of Maine is located on a 350-acre campus in Standish, Maine. Accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges, the school offers an entirely online bachelor of arts in theology program. The program typically requires four years of study to complete, though students who wish to may attend on-campus summer programs to complete the curriculum more quickly. Otherwise, students do not need to visit the St. Joseph's campus and may take as many courses as they wish per term. The program covers Catholic theology with coursework in church history, the Old and New Testaments and moral theology. Federal financial aid is available for eligible students.
