Online Colleges That Provide Laptops

Some students are opting for online colleges to cut the expense of living on-campus and commuting. While these measures cut some fees, the price of books and the computer necessary to study online can prevent some students from applying. A few online colleges have incorporated laptop programs that provide students with a laptop through discounts, by fees folded into tuition or free with enrollment.
  1. Full Sail University

    • Full Sail University has a campus in Florida and operates an online university program for undergraduate and graduate degrees with full accreditation. The university has majors in the entertainment field ranging from entertainment business to education media design and technology. The school provides all enrolled students, including online students, with an Apple computer installed with programs necessary for the course. The computer is not included in tuition but is provided at an industry discount.

    Stevens-Henager College

    • Stevens-Henager College is an accredited school offering associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees on 12 campuses and online. Stevens-Henager has business, graphic arts, health care and information technology programs. Its master's program only offers business and health care. The college provides every enrolled student -- online and traditional -- a free laptop with Stevens-Henager software installed. The pre-installed laptops are only for enrolled students. If you drop out, the laptops must be returned to the college.

    Bethel University

    • Bethel University, an accredited institution, has a campus in Tennessee and online courses. Bethel offers liberal arts undergraduate and graduate degrees online. The online study targets working adults seeking degrees in subjects such as art, computer science and MBAs. The university provides online students with an iPad loaded with applicable programs and a wireless keyboard included in tuition.

    Wake Forest University

    • Since the mid-1990s Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina has provided students with laptops and cutting-edge software applications that come installed on the computer. Wake Forest strives to be a leader in academic computing to familiarize students with the latest technology. Faculty also receive a laptop, which supports faculty and student communication. Laptops with software programs encourage students to collaborate with one another on research projects and group assignments.
