Do you need the 2 years of college credits before becoming a pharmacist.?

In the United States, becoming a pharmacist typically requires a minimum of six years of education and training. The prerequisite for entry into pharmacy school is a bachelor's degree in a science-related field such as biology, chemistry, or pre-pharmacy. After satisfying this requirement, prospective pharmacists enroll in a four-years Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). Once the PharmD degree has been conferred, individuals are eligible to take the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE). Successful candidates are licensed as pharmacists and can begin practicing.
