Top Premedicine Colleges

Students who’ve decided to seek a medical degree must first obtain a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Although there is actually no premedicine major, many schools maintain premedicine programs to help prepare students for admission to medical school. As part of these programs, students must complete certain prerequisite courses. The following colleges are popular choices for premed students because of strong premed programs and the high number of graduates going on to med school.
  1. Harvard

    • This Ivy League college is a popular choice with premed students, graduating a high number of students who go on to med school. Harvard also boasts a strong advisory program for students who are trying to lay the groundwork for application to a medical school and maintains a distinguished school of medicine of its own. Giving further support to Harvard’s premed students is the Harvard Premedical Society, a student organization that offers a variety of helpful programs, including peer advisory services, hospital volunteer opportunities and a physician mentoring program.
