    • Students who attend the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine can work toward a number of degrees.     UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine

    • The University of California at Los Angeles established its medical school, the David Geffen School of Medicine, near the end of World War II, and the school admitted its first 28 students in 1951. Today the school hosts more than 750 medical students and nearly 400 Ph.D. students in its medical programs.

      The David Geffen School of Medicine offers a host of degrees, including M.D. degrees and a variety of post-graduate work. Students can work toward an M.D. degree on its own or can study in a combined program that will earn them an M.D. as well as another degree, such as a Ph.D. in medical scientist training or a Master of Public Health degree. Students can earn a Ph.D. in neuroscience, neurobiology, biomedical physics, and four other areas.
