How long does it take to earn a dermatology degree?

Becoming a dermatologist requires a significant time commitment. It generally takes a minimum of 12-13 years after high school:

* 4 years: Undergraduate education (pre-med)

* 4 years: Medical school (MD or DO)

* 4 years: Dermatology residency

This is the minimum; some individuals may choose to pursue additional fellowships for subspecialization within dermatology, adding more time to their training.
