South University Online offers a bachelor's degrees in legal studies that is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA). Students take the majority of their classes online, but must take certain classes in the classroom at South University or an institution approved by South University. Herzing University offers an online bachelor of science in legal studies that provides a combination of coursework in business administration and various types of law. Although the degree is available online, this program is only accredited by the ABA when classes are taken at the New Orleans campus. Grand Canyon University requires incoming students to be U.S. citizens with a high school diploma or GED. Work experience is considered a plus. A private Christian university, Grand Canyon offers a bachelor's degree program in justice studies as well as master's degree programs in legal studies and law enforcement. These particular programs are still fairly new and have not yet received ABA accreditation. Grand Canyon University is, however, in the process of establishing an official pre-law program, for which it is seeking ABA accreditation, and possibly establishing a Law School, which would have ABA accreditation.
