Go to the American Library Association's website.
Read through the comprehensive directory of ALA-accredited master's degree programs in library and information studies. This can be accessed online in a database format, as a Google Map, on a list alphabetically arranged by institution or in Adobe Reader format.
Think about what type of library and information science graduate school program interests you the most. For example, if you would like to pursue a career in archival administration, the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science has an excellent Archives Concentration program, according to the U.S.News and World Report's 2010 edition of "America's Best Graduate Schools."
Speak with your friends, family, colleagues or a trusted career-services specialist before you make a final decision about what the best information and library science schools for you are. These individuals may be able to give you a different perspective on the colleges or universities to which you plan to apply.
