Each year, more than 2 million students take the SAT. The test measures verbal skills, critical thinking skills and math skills. Students normally take the SAT for the first time during their junior year of high school. The test is offered several times each year. SAT scores range on a scale from 200 to 800. Additional sub-scores are reported for the essay writing portion of the exam.
Individuals who wish to enroll at Savannah College of Art and Design must have their SAT scores sent directly to the school. When requesting that the scores be sent to the college, students should use the institution's SAT code of 5631.
Students who wish to enter the professional architecture program at Savannah must have a math score of at least 540 on the SAT. Students who do not meet the minimum requirement of 540 may be admitted to the program on a provisional basis. No other programs list a minimum SAT score. Average SAT scores for entering freshmen range from 470 to 590; average verbal SAT scores for accepted students range from 490 to 600.
Students with high SAT scores and grade point averages may be eligible for a limited number of academic scholarships at Savannah College of Art and Design. Special consideration is given to the mathematics and critical thinking portions of the SAT.
