Compare your academic performance against other students who started their education in the same year as you by calculating your ATAR. The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, ATAR, is a method used by Australian universities to identify students who have the highest potential for success in their courses. It was formally known and the Teritary Entrance Rank, TER, and is calculated using Higher School Certificate marks in ten subjects, including two compulsory English units. Although an ATAR is calculated for every eligible student, not every student is notified of the ranking. It is helpful to calculate your own ATAR in preparation for tertiary education application and to check if you meet admission criteria.
