The Technical University of Munich (TU Munich) is Germany's top-rated university. The Times Supplement rated TU Munich as the 55th highest-rated university in the world. The university is composed of 13 separate faculties and enrolls over 23,000 students each year. Of the thirteen faculties, it is the faculties of teacher education, engineering, economics, the sciences and medicine that are the most prominent. The Times Higher Education Supplement placed the university 94th among all universities in the world. The university consists of 17 different departments, centers or institutes.
