Established by the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. in 1852, Westminster College is 60 miles north of Pittsburgh, in the suburban setting of New Wilmington. Situated 15 miles from Philadelphia, Bryn Athyn College of the New Church is affiliated with the General Church of the New Jerusalem. With approximately 150 students, the school offers a limited number of degree programs in fields like biology, English, history, education and religion. The school sponsors seven intercollegiate sports teams for men and women. There is one sorority on campus and a number of other student groups and clubs, including a chorus, drama club, a student-run newspaper and a service-learning organization.

The United Methodist Church founded Lycoming College in 1812, and since that time, the college has grown to an enrollment of more than 1,300 undergraduate students.
