Founded in 1966, Essex County College is a public, two-year institution in Newark, New Jersey. Among the school's 70 programs is an associate of applied science degree in electronic engineering technology. Full-time students can complete the required curriculum in two years, while part-time students often finish in three to four years. Required courses for the program include composition, circuity, trigonometry, physics, technical writing, semiconductors, calculus and electrical power. A limited number of for-credit internships and paid co-operative work placements are available for students to gain on-the-job experience.
Essex County College participates in federal and state grant and loan, veterans benefits and federal work study programs and offers need and merit-based scholarships. Home to more than 12,500 undergraduate and graduate students, the University of Montana is a public, state college in the city of Missoula. The university offers a two-year associate of applied science degree in electronics technology. Students take classes in a variety of fields, such as information technology, amplifiers, calculus, psychology, robotics, automated controls and data and wireless communications. Three laboratory courses are included in the required curriculum, and all students complete a semester-long research seminar in engineering prior to graduation.
