The Best Colleges in Nebraska for Art or Photography

The state of Nebraska, long known as one of the leaders in U.S. agriculture, farming and ranching, is also home to a burgeoning arts culture and some of the most renowned arts and photography programs in the country.     • The department of Art and Art History at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln offers seven studio art undergraduate degree programs including from photography, ceramics, graphic design and drawing.     Creighton University: Fine and Performing Arts

    • The Creighton University department of Fine and Performing Arts recently celebrated its 45th anniversary of superior arts education in Nebraska. Creighton offers more than a half dozen bachelor's degrees in both studio art and performing arts including dance, music and musical theater. Creighton's graphic design program offers a combination of traditional graphic arts studies with varieties of instruction in electronic media, contemporary web design, text visualization and art theory. Creighton's studio art degree program combines all traditional artistic mediums from painting to sculpture.

    Hastings College

    • The art department at Hastings College is home to an 800 hundred square foot art gallery that features a vast array of exhibitions annually including showcases focusing on student works. Hastings is also home to expansive printmaking ceramics, and painting studios, as well as one of the region's most sophisticated glassblowing studios. Degree programs range from studio arts in printmaking, painting, ceramics, photography, and glass to art history and art education.
