Video Game Programmer Schools

Video game programmers develop the technical instructions that computers and video game consoles use to run games. The field is highly competitive, reports the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and one way that prospective programmers can set themselves apart is with post-secondary education specifically in game design and programming. A small number of colleges throughout the United States offer such programs and grant both associate and bachelor's degrees.
