Schools for Solar Energy in Florida

Renewable energy is obtained from natural sources such as the sun, wind and tides. Recent concerns over climate change and rising oil prices have led to an increase in renewable energy research. Not surprisingly, the "Sunshine State," is at the forefront of solar energy research and several of Florida's universities offer students the opportunity to specialize in this field of engineering.
  1. Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University & Florida State University--Tallahassee

    • Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and Florida State University offer opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students through the joint College of Engineering. The FAMU-FSU Undergraduate Research Center for Cutting-Edge Technologies (URCCET) focuses on providing opportunities in engineering for minority students. The FAMU-FSU Sustainable Energy Science and Engineering Center (SESEC) offers a broad research program in renewable energy.
