• Bunker Hill Community College’s associate of arts degree in psychology is geared toward students looking to later obtain a bachelor’s degree in the field of behavioral science. For many students, this can also mean transferring credits earned in the BHCC program to a college or university. The program includes courses in behavioral research, the psychology of adjustment, psychological and sociological principles and human growth & development. Upon completion of the two-year program, students will possess a developed understanding of major psychological theories and psychotherapy, perspectives connecting the mind and body and stages of human development, biologically, cognitively, affectively and emotionally.

• At Quincy College, psychology students undertake a 60- or 61-credit associate of arts program, first building a foundation of liberal arts education through core courses. After completing core curriculum, students move on to courses in such topics as abnormal psychology, psychology of gender and culture, adolescent psychology and group dynamics. Quincy attendees either complete programs in a traditional two-year format or pick one of the alternative options, such as 10-week, seven-week or five-week courses, “double ups” combining multiple courses in a single period or tandems, which fit two semesters into one term.
