Schools With a Bachelor's Degree in Forensic Psychology

While there are many colleges and universities that offer an undergraduate degree in psychology, there are only a few who offer bachelor degrees in the specialized field of forensic psychology. Forensic psychology is broadly defined as the development and application of psychological principles to the administration of correctional, judicial, law enforcement and legal systems.
  1. Florida Institute of Technology

    • As one of the few schools to offer a forensic psychology specialty at the undergraduate level, Florida Tech is the only institution that offers this program in Florida.

      To graduate from Florida Tech with a bachelor of arts in forensic psychology, students should expect to complete 120 credits. Of those credits, 30 must be earned in forensic psychology, while an additional 26 credits must be earned in other psychology courses.

      These courses include, but are not limited to: American Criminal Justice, Crime Analysis, Critical Issues in Forensics and Criminal Investigations.

    John Jay College of Criminal Justice

    • John Jay College of Criminal Justice is a part of the City University of New York network. The bachelor of arts degree in forensic psychology began at John Jay and is designed for students who are interested in the relationship between the legal system and psychology.

      To earn the degree, students should expect to complete 120 hours. Of these hours, 34 must be in courses specific to the forensic psychology curriculum.

      Courses specific to forensic psychology include: Ethics and Law, Psychology of Adolescence and the Adolescent Offender, Psychological Foundations of Police Work, Fieldwork in Forensic Psychology I, and Forensic Social and Experimental Psychology.

    Seattle University

    • Students pursuing a degree in forensic psychology at Seattle University enroll in the bachelor of criminal justice - forensic psychology degree program.

      Students should expect to complete 180 quarter credits with a minimum overall average GPA of 2.0 and a major GPA of 2.5. To complete the major requirements, students must earn 65 credits in courses specializing in criminal justice and psychology.

      Possible courses include: Criminal Justice Statistics, Forensic Psychology, Deviance and Social Control, Theories of Investigation and Criminal Profiling.

    • Southern New Hampshire University offers a bachelor of arts in psychology with a concentration in forensics.

      To earn the degree, students should expect to complete 120 credits. Of those credits, students must complete 33 in the psychology major. To specialize in forensic psychology, students must complete a minimum of 12 credits in the concentration.

      Available courses include, but are not limited to: Criminal Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Social Psychology, and Sociology of Crime and Violence.
