The University of Massachusetts (UMass) at Dartmouth offers BFA and MFA programs in graphic design through the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CPVA). The Bachelor's program focuses on visual communication as a means of delivering messages to a specific audience via a variety of technologies. Traditional and new media techniques and tools are explored. In the MFA program, students develop a thesis project based on their research with the guidance of a faculty committee. The design studios are located in the CPVA building on the main campus. The Media Lab includes current generation Apple computer work stations.
