The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics offers undergraduate and graduate programs. The "AeroAstro" undergraduate core curriculum spans the foundation of astronautics, most notably with surveys of materials, structure, aerodynamics, electronic systems and propulsion. MIT also offers graduate-level degree paths in space propulsion and space systems. Topics of study include manned space exploration and military space systems engineering. The two-year program also prepares students to consider potential economic and societal factors in creating space systems.
