The Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) was founded in 1968. As of 2010, there are approximately 10,000 students enrolled in the school. The university offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
The Bachelor of Engineering degree in bioengineering is a four-year degree in which bioengineering can be studied as either a minor or a major. The university also offers research-based graduate programs that include the Ph.D. in bioengineering and a Masters of Engineering, or M.Eng., in bioengineering.

The Nanyang Technological Institute with its schools of engineering was established in 1981. The university has been offering bioengineering degrees since 2003. As of 2010, there are 14,375 students enrolled in the engineering school.
At the undergraduate level, the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) offers a Bachelor of Engineering, or B.Eng., degree in bioengineering. This is a four-year degree program. At the graduate level, NTU offers a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree with course work in biomedical engineering. It also offers graduate research programs like the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) and Ph.D. programs in bioengineering.

The school of engineering at Singapore Polytechnic offers a three-year program in bioengineering, called the Diploma in Biotechnology. Many students from the institute go on to pursue careers in medical technology, biotechnology, health care and in the pharmaceutical industry after completing the course.
