The University of Hyderabad ranks No. 1 on the list. The biotechnology department is one of the four on campus that are in the heart of Hyderabad. Also, according to its website, the University of Hyderabad is the only college in India to offer fellowships to all students on all levels.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council gave the university the highest mark possible: "A." Students who study biotechnology become familiar with disciplines such as bioenergetics, biophysics and molecular biology.

Jawaharlal Nehru University can be found in the capital city of New Delhi. It has been serving the people of India since the early 1970's and has a student-to-faculty ratio of one-to-10. The 1000-acre campus features laboratories, a library and numerous bird-watching opportunities.

You can find the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology in Thiruvananthapuram, capital of the state of Kerala. The center opened in 1990 and is now the third-ranked college of its kind in India. One of the more prominent disciplines within biotechnology is plant biotechnology. This program teaches students how to strengthen important plants and research possibly medicinal plants.
