    • Princeton University is the fourth oldest college in the United States. This private university is among the top Ivy League schools in the northeast. U.S. News and World Report ranked Princeton as a Tier 1 school among national universities. Princeton facilitates 5,000 undergraduate and 2,500 graduate students, and has a world-renowned research facility specializing in the fields of genomics, neuroscience and materials science. In 2009, Princeton received a grant of $232 million for research from government agencies, according to princeton.edu.     Harvard University

    • Established in 1636 in Connecticut, Harvard University is now among the top colleges in the northeast. U.S. News and World Report ranked Harvard as Tier 1 among the best colleges in 2010. With only a 7.9 percent admission rate, Harvard is home to a select group of scholars. Students earn degrees in business, education, design, government, law, public health and many others. Harvard awarded 354 Ph.D. degrees and 66 master's degrees in their spring 2010 graduation. Harvard Medical School is also among the top in the region.     • Yale University is an Ivy League institution located in New Haven, Connecticut. Founded in 1701, this private institution ranks among the top colleges in the nation. U.S. News and World Report ranked Yale No. 3 among the best colleges of 2010. Yale is home to around 5,000 undergraduate, and 6,000 graduate students.
