Bengal Engineering and Science University is located in West Bengal, India, on the Hooghly River's western bank. The college offers eight four-semester postgraduate courses of study, all culminating in a Master of Engineering degree. These engineering disciplines include: mining, engineering mechanics, computer science and technology, electronics and telecommunication, metallurgy, mechanical, electrical, and civil. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) collaborated with Harvard Business School to develop its postgraduate programs in management. This collaboration resulted in a mix of both Eastern and Western management practices. The institute offers three two-year postgraduate programs for students wishing to continue past their undergraduate education. These include a postgraduate program in: management, agribusiness management, and public management and policy. In addition, IIM also offers an intense one-year postgraduate program in management for executives. IIM notes that in 2007 the Economist Intelligence Unit ranked IIM as second in the world for full-time MBA programs, ahead of Stanford, Dartmouth, and University of California, Berkeley. It also note that several publications ranked IIM as a number one university, including Business India, Businessworld, Business Today, and Outlook.
