The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is the only osteopathic school in Georgia. Its academic programs include Biomedical Sciences, the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, Physician Assistant Studies, Forensic Medicine, School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Organizational Development and Leadership, and Postgraduate Medical Research. According to its website, at least 65 percent of graduates have gone on to careers in obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics, general internal medicine, family practice and primary care.

Prospective students at The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine should complete their undergraduate degrees or have three years of college with exceptional grades. They need eight semester hours in the classroom in organic chemistry, general chemistry, physics and biology. They should also complete two semester hours of lab work in each of the same fields. Completing six semester hours of English composition and literature is required. Students also must take the Medical College Admissions Test.
