Students enrolled in the criminal justice technology and basic law enforcement program at Miami Dade College work toward an associate degree. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in a variety of law enforcement occupations, such as local federal fish and wildlife agencies and police departments. The degree requires 64 credits, which takes a minimum of five semesters of full-time study. Students must complete 22 general education credits and courses such as criminology, constitutional law, criminal procedures, and parole and probation. Florida International University offers graduate and undergraduate courses in criminal justice for students interested in a law enforcement career.
