The field of 3D animation involves drawing objects that appear in a three-dimensional space and can be moved like real objects, according to PCMag.com. Employment of artists, which include those who work in visual arts and 3D animation, is projected to climb 12 percent through 2018, according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics. In 2010, 3D animators--who can work in the movie, video game and even advertising industries--earned between $40,481 and $63,906, reports Payscale.com. Several schools train students in the growing area of 3D animation.
