Located in Lexington, the University of Kentucky is a public institution with more than 26,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The college offers a baccalaureate in arts administration designed for students interested in arts management degrees. Students in the program concentrate in art, art history, music performance, music history or theater and take courses related to their area of specialization. In addition, arts administration majors complete coursework in communications, accounting, economics, marketing and fund-raising. All students must complete both an internship and a service-learning volunteer project practicum in order to graduate. Founded in 1962, Franklin Pierce University is a private, nonsectarian institution in Rindge, New Hampshire, a rural area 65 miles from Boston, Massachusetts. The college offers a Bachelor of Science in arts management degree. The program requires students to take classes in accounting, non-profit management, business law, economics, financial management and marketing. Students also choose a specialty area of concentration from art history, dance, fine arts, graphic communications, mass communications, music or theater. To graduate, all arts management majors must complete either an internship or an independent research project. All students in the program must pass a comprehensive examination as well. Approximately 93 percent of all freshmen and 97 percent of continuing students receive financial aid while studying at Franklin Pierce, according to the "2009 Barron's Profiles of American Colleges."

The Roman Catholic Church founded the University of San Francisco in 1855, and since that time the school has grown to enrollment of more than 8,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The college's arts management degree program focuses upon studio arts and museums. Among the topics covered in the curriculum are resume-writing, interviewing, curating, preservation, patron education and communications. All students participate in three internships prior to graduation: in a museum, in a commercial gallery and with a non-profit arts organization. Study abroad opportunities are also available for arts management students. Eligible student can receive federal and state financial aid as well as institutional scholarships while attending the University of San Francisco.
