The Mount Sinai School of Medicine offers a two-year fellowship program in rheumatology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and the Bronx VA Medical Center. Fellows administer patient care at both facilities as well as in patient home visits. At the hospitals, fellows learn about the field of rheumatology and study in contemporary clinical equipment and technology to prepare for a career as a rheumatology consultant. The unique home visit program exposes individuals to the socioeconomic and emotional difficulties faced by patients with debilitating rheumatologic diseases. Students attend teaching rounds and lecture series each week and monthly lectures on bone radiology. Fellows are also encouraged to undertake research opportunities throughout the program.
