As a private, nonprofit college in St. Louis, Ranken Technical College specializes in automotive, construction, electrical, information technology and manufacturing trades. According to the school's website, more than 98 percent of students have secured employment within their fields within six months of graduation. "Automotive collision repair technology" and "automotive maintenance technology" are offered as associate of technology degree programs. The automotive collision repair program includes a shop space of 20,000 square feet, incorporating real-world learning using state-of-the-art equipment. The automotive maintenance technology program teaches students to work on engines, air conditioning systems, suspension and steering, engine performance and emissions, brakes and electricity. Students have the opportunity to participate in one of the corporate sponsorships within the program, including Toyota's Technical Education Network or General Motors' Automotive Service Educational Program.

Metropolitan Community College (MCC) began as Kansas City Polytechnic Institute almost one hundred years ago. Today, the college offers 80 career programs with an emphasis on diversity and strong transfer programs. It has five campus locations in Kansas City. MCC's Automotive Program was ranked as the No. 1 post-secondary automotive training program in the country by Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association/ American Vocational Association. The program consists of five associate of applied science degrees focused on mechanical, merchandising and collision repair technology. It has corporate sponsorship options with either Ford of General Motors. Three certificate options are available in areas of automotive technology, automotive collision repair and undercar job ready.

Linn State Technical College (LSTC) is Missouri's only public technical college, offering unique program options in areas such as powersports technology and nuclear technology. According to the school's website, approximately 95 percent of students have either secured employment or continued their education within six months of graduation since 1995. Linn State's automotive technology program provides one-year certificate options in general automotive, engine performance, maintenance and light repair, and automotive transmission in addition to three associate of applied science degree options in general automotive, high performance or light-duty diesel. The program is one of the only automotive technology programs in the nation that meets automotive service excellence industry standards, according to the LSTC website.
