Aviation Science Schools

For students who want to pursue aviation careers, there are a number of degree programs available to teach them the fundamentals of the field. Students in these programs can learn a variety of skills including how to fly aircraft as well as fix them. In addition, students who attend aviation science schools learn the nuts and bolts of how to run a business.
  1. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

    • Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, which has campuses in Florida and Arizona, is dedicated to teaching students everything they need to know about the aerospace and aviation fields, including practical applications, scientific theories and how the business is conducted. In order to do this, the school offers undergraduate and graduate degrees that teach students the fundamentals of manufacturing, marketing, research and engineering in the field.

      On the undergraduate level, students can pursue degrees in aeronautical science, applied meteorology, aviation business administration, civil engineering, space physics and aerospace electronics. On the master's degree level, Embry-Riddle offers degrees in subjects such as aerospace engineering, aeronautical science, logistics and supply chain management, and aeronautics.

      For students who want to continue their education and pursue doctoral level degrees, Embry-Riddle has Ph.D.programs in aviation and engineering physics.

    Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology

    • The Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology was founded in 1928 and offers several degrees for those who want to enter the aviation field. The school's pilot training program takes students who may have never flown a plane before and teaches them how to become proficient so that they can pursue careers in corporate aviation, flight instruction or aerial photography. Spartan's aviation maintenance program is designed to teach students how to repair, maintain and inspect aircraft so that they can become licensed aviation maintenance technicians. The college's avionics technology program prepares students to become electronics technicians for aircraft.

    National Aviation Academy

    • The National Aviation Academy has campuses in Florida and Massachusetts. The academy offers technical programs in areas such as avionics technology, aviation maintenance and aviation maintenance management. These programs give students hands-on experience with basic and advanced aviation maintenance projects.
