  Cite the online reference within the text using the author's name. Don't place the entire Web address; instead, pinpoint the author.

  Example 1: Jenkins states that killer whales are on the verge of extinction.

  Cite an online reference within the text using the website name. If there is no author, include the name of the website. Use a short title of the article following the quote or paraphrase.

  Example: Killer Whales Today insists that killer whales are on the verge of extinction ("Save Killer Whales").

  Cite an online reference in the Works Cited page.

  Example 1--No author or date:

  "Save Killer Whales." Killer Whales Today. Humane Society of the Universe. n.d. Web. 18 Oct. 2010.

  Example 2--With author and date article was published and accessed:

  Cite an online periodical source within the Works Cited page. References to periodical articles must include the author(s), publication date, title of article, title of journal, the volume number, the issue number (if known) and the page number(s).

  Cite an article from an online database. The citation should include the author(s) name and the date the entry was last updated.
