Hospital Equipment Training

Medical equipment repairers work in hospitals and other health-care facilities, and are responsible for maintaining, calibrating and repairing medical equipment needed for diagnostic procedures and treatments. If you are interested in the field you can gain a certificate, associate's degree or bachelor's degree in biomedical equipment technology.
  1. Biomedical Equipment Certificate

    • Biomedical equipment certificate programs are offered through community colleges and vocational schools. They take one to two semesters to complete and provide you with the basic skills necessary to fix medical electronic equipment, medical hydraulic equipment and medical mechanical systems.

Associate of Science in Biomedical Engineering Technology

    • A two-year associate's degree program in biomedical equipment contains the same practical courses as a certificate program in the field. Students are expected to complete general education courses as well as courses in circuitry, physics and electronics.

Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Technology

    • Some universities and colleges offer four-year degree programs in biomedical technology for students who are interested in working with the sophisticated equipment within hospital laboratories.
