Chaminade University, located in Honolulu, offers a bachelor's degree (BS) and a master's degree in criminal justice (MSCJA). It currently has 10 online courses available in criminal justice. Internships are also available at Hawaiian companies and agencies to allow students to get introductory, hands-on knowledge in the criminal justice area. The master's program prepares students for careers in homeland security; federal, state, county, and municipal law enforcement; probation, parole, and community corrections; and private security and investigation. With an MSCJA, you'll also be prepared to enter law school. Chaminade focuses on creating individuals with critical thinking skills. The master's program must be completed in five years.
University of Phoenix in Honolulu offers an online AA degree in criminal justice and a BS in criminal justice with a management emphasis, obtained by either online courses or on campus. The AA degree focuses on the criminal court system, juvenile justice and police study. Interactive assignments help students develop their critical thinking skills. Students examine the connection between the police, the public and the court systems. The bachelor's degree "is designed to give learners a depth of understanding concerning the management and administrative skills necessary to effectively run organizations in the various domains of criminal justice system."
