Navigate to your school's website. Most educational institutions have a web address that ends in the ".edu" domain, such as "harvard.edu."
Log into the website. Students usually have university-assigned user name and password to gain access to their school accounts and records. The user name may simply be your student ID number or Social Security number. If you have never used the online site before, click on a "Registration" link to create a web account. Registering for online access to your classes is not the same as registering for classes.
Click on the link that corresponds to your classes. The titling of this section varies by school, but a common name is "Courses and Registration." Select the link that shows all of the courses you have selected, commonly labeled "View Class Schedule."
Click on the hyperlink for the class you want to drop. This usually takes you to a detailed description of the class, providing details about the subject, term and instructor. Make you want to drop that particular class.
Look for buttons or other options that are labeled "Drop." Click the button that indicates that you wish to drop the class. If there is a confirmation message, select "Yes" to continue dropping the class. You should see a verification message indicating that you have successfully dropped the class.
