New York Nursing Degrees

There were an estimated 2,583,770 employed nurses in the United States, according to a May 2009 report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This report shows these nurses earned a mean annual wage of $66,530. In New York as in most states, the type of nursing degree you have can play a factor on how much you earn. A nurse with a master's degree will earn more than a nurse with an associate's degree.
  1. Associate's Degree

    • A nursing student attending Manhattan's Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing associate degree program will study Introduction to Nursing, Nursing Care of Patients with Common Health Problems, Principles of Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing and more. Liberal Arts and Science Courses include English I, General Psychology, Introduction to Sociology and Nutrition and Diet Therapy, among others. A nurse with an associate's degree can work as a registered nurse in a hospital, nursing home, doctor's office or school setting.
