Accredited California Colleges

California is known as a vacation state. Many from out of town choose California and its popular cities, like Beverly Hills, Hollywood, San Francisco and Los Angeles, to spend a few days chock full of entertainment and nice weather. However, California has a serious side too; the large state houses many accredited colleges for students of all interests to obtain a quality degree.
  1. California State University

    • California State University offers 23 campuses across the state for easy accessibility to students. The accredited college boasts that they are the largest and most diverse colleges in the country, currently housing around 433,000 students in its locations. The college is also one of the most affordable in the country, says the CSU site. CSU offers bachelor's, Master's and pre-doctoral degrees to students. The pre-doctoral program aims to increase the number of doctoral students at one of University of California's campuses. Its main campus is located in Long Beach, a popular tourist destination with plenty of entertainment.

    Antioch University -- Los Angeles

    • Antioch University has five campuses in four states across the country, with their California campus located in Los Angeles. The accredited university offers bachelor's degree completion programs in liberal studies and Master's programs in selected areas of focus, including creative writing, organizational management, psychology, urban sustainability and education credentialing. They also offer a Ph. D. in leadership and change. In addition to brick-and-mortar environments, AULA offers online courses for students who cannot relocate. In total, the college sees about 5,000 students.

    Golden Gate University

    • Golden Gate University is located in San Francisco and has served students since 1901. Their accredited program is also offered online. GGU offers bachelor's, Master's and Ph. D. programs, in addition to law degrees. The school also offers undergraduate and graduate certificates in certain specializations designed to enhance their knowledge and expand their marketability, says the site. Such certifications include applied psychology, public administration and international taxation. Other campuses exist in Los Angeles and Silicon Valley.

    University of California Berkeley

    • The University of California at Berkeley houses more than 35,000 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. Berkeley offers bachelor's, Master's and Ph. D. programs, as well as professional degrees. Specifically, the campus produces more Ph.D. programs per year than any other university in the nation. Berkeley is also highly ranked, with 48 out of 52 Berkeley programs ranked within the top 10 of nationally ranked programs. In addition, the university has the largest number of highly ranked graduate programs in the U.S. However, Berkeley is highly competitive, with the average incoming freshman having a 4.19 GPA on a 4.0 scale and an SAT score totaling 2031. Also look to UC's other campuses, which include Irvine, Los Angeles, Davis and Santa Barbara.
