The University of South Alabama is a public university located in Mobile, and is a Tier 1 school. U.S. News and World Report ranked it 52nd out of Southern universities. There are also two private universities in Mobile County. Bishop State Community College is a public community college located in Mobile. Bishop State has four campuses located within Mobile, as well as five other campuses throughout the county. Bishop State offers several areas of study, including history and early childhood education. Remington College has a campus in Mobile County, and offers programs in criminal justice, electronic technology, pharmacy and medical assisting. Enterprise State Community College also has a campus in Mobile, called the Alabama Aviation Center, which offers students comprehensive aviation maintenance training.
Public high schools in Mobile County are all a part of the Mobile County Public School System. There are 13 comprehensive high schools and two career technical centers in the school system. The school has a modern facility that includes three computer labs, science labs and a photography lab. Cottage Hill Christian Academy is a co-educational college preparatory school that offers advanced placement and college level courses to help prepare students for college. The Arnold School is a secular, private high school located in Mobile and is small, with a class of only one or two students per teacher in academic subjects.
