An annotated bibliography is essentially a reference list for a research paper with a short explanation of each source's content. Annotated bibliographies can be set up in MLA (Modern Language Association), APA (American Psychological Association) or CBE (Council of Biology Editors)/CSE (Council of Science Editors) format. An annotated bibliography in any other format can easily be converted into an APA format reference list.
