St. Joseph's University was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1851. It accepts men and women in a supportive atmosphere. The University has a rigorous academic program, but focuses on the common good with energy, compassion and a spiritual atmosphere. Because St. Joseph's is located in the city of Philadelphia, internships and cooperative programs are available. Professional sports and cultural events flourish in Philadelphia.
The University provides 75 undergraduate programs that lead to a certificate, associate or bachelor degree. There are summer abroad and 45 graduate programs. In 2010, 8,800 students were enrolled, including 4,600 undergraduates. The 103-acre campus holds 78 buildings. Twenty varsity and 30 intramural sports are available. The tuition in 2010 was $35,080.

Haub School of Business. The school's graduate programs range from Behavior Analysis to Writing Studies. On-line graduate programs include Criminal Justice, Finances and Health Administration. The College of Professional and Liberal Studies offers many bachelor's degrees as well as associate degrees and certificates in many fields.
