The Georgia State University is the second university in the U.S. which received the ISO 27001 certificate. According to the college authorities this rating will help them invoke continuous improvement in securing and managing information. The certification process involved a three-year assessment of the various policies that controlled information security and management of databases. The university will have to undergo an audit to maintain its rating.
