How to Cite a Reference for a Website in APA Style

Since 1929, the American Psychological Association (APA) style has been implemented for all psychological research essays and papers. Not only do you avoid plagiarism by citing a reference, you give credit to the author of the online source and add credibility to your paper. Although the APA guidelines for website citation are specific down to the last punctuation mark, the format is straightforward and easy to follow with the correct information.

List the URL of the website including "http://..." in parentheses within the text. For example, if you're citing a line from an article within the text, your citation would look like this:

"The space satellite has orbited the planet Mars since June, 15, 2009 (http://www.nasa.com)."
