Calculating your grade point average is easy; even when you are calculating your cumulative GPA. The difference between your GPA and your cumulative GPA is time. Your regular GPA is calculated based on the classes you are currently enrolled in. Your cumulative GPA is an accumulation of your grades from all of the classes you are currently enrolled in as well as the classes you took during your undergrad years. The process of calculating your GPA is not difficult if you know the basic formula, which makes calculating your cumulative GPA very convenient.

    • 1

      Locate your final grade from every class you've taken during your college career; including your undergraduate classes.

    • 2

      Provide a numerical value to each of your grades. Numerical values are provided on the GPA conversion chart:

      F = 0 points

      D = 1 point

      C = 2 points

      B = 3 points

      A = 4 points

    • 3

      Add together the numerical value for every class to obtain one numerical value to represent all of your grades from the start of college through the present.

    • 4

      Count the number of classes you took during your college career, including your undergrad classes. Divide the numerical value of your grades by the number of classes you've taken to obtain your GPA. For example, if you've taken 32 classes and have a numerical value of 112 your GPA is 3.5.
