How to Cite the BSA Handbook in APA

The American Psychological Association developed a citation style that is commonly in use for research papers in the sciences. This style contains detailed instructions for listing sources from all types of media in a Works Cited page. The Boy Scouts of America handbook would be listed in the Works Cited page as a published book.

Instructions

    • 1

Type the name of the editor, since there is no listed author. Then, type the year in which the book was published.

    • 2

Add the title in italics. Follow up with the place where the book was published and the publishing company.

    • 3

Proofread your work. For this example -- the 12th edition of the handbook, published in 2010 -- it should look like this:

Laskey, E. (Ed.). (2010). The Boy Scout Handbook (title in italics). Irving, TX: Boy Scouts of America.

In your reference list, you would indent the second line 1/2 inch.
