The 1st Marine Division Association Scholarship Program provides scholarship awards to dependents of permanently disabled and deceased Marines who served with the 1st Division. Undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree full-time at an accredited institution are eligible to receive the $1,750 award. Scholarships of $1,500 are also awarded to children of active 1st Marine Division members as well as active and deceased members of the 25th Infantry.

The Marine Corps League Foundation offers scholarships to members of the Marine Corps League or Auxiliary and their dependents. Spouses, children and grandchildren of members in good standing are eligible as are children of deceased Marines. Marines who have been honorably discharged may also apply. Students must be enrolled or plan to enroll at an accredited institution with intent to pursue an undergraduate degree. The scholarship amount varies based on the availability of funds.

The Marine Corps Relief Society administers a number of scholarship and loan programs for active duty and veteran Marines, their dependents and dependents of deceased Marines who were killed in the war on terror. Awards range from $500 to $3,000 and eligibility criteria varies with each scholarship.

Applicants must have a 2.0 GPA and plan to enroll in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited college or university. Additionally, awards are determined in part by gross household income. Students are eligible to receive $3,000 and students whose parent(s) were killed in the September 11, 2001, attacks or in the war on terror are eligible to receive up to $30,000 paid over four years.

The Sgt. Jeannette L. Winters Scholarship is available to active duty, reserve and honorably discharged Marine Corps members. To be eligible for the $2,000 scholarship, the Marine must be a sophomore, junior or senior who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or any related field. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA to be considered.
