Scholarships for Nurses to Get Their Master's Degree

Nurses who choose to pursue a master's degree in nursing don't necessarily have to shoulder the cost of the additional education alone. As a matter of fact, a variety of scholarship options for post-graduate nursing study are now available.
  1. AfterCollege/AACN Scholarship

    • The AfterCollege/AACN Scholarship is a partnership between AfterCollege, the leading employment web site for nursing students, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The scholarship offers funds for students pursuing professional nursing education programs, including master's degrees. Special consideration is given to students enrolled in a master's program to pursue a nursing faculty career or those enrolled in an accelerated master's degree nursing program.

Scholarships are $2,500, and students are required to have a 3.25 grade point average. For more information or application instructions, nursing students can visit www.aftercollege.com/content/article/aftercollege_aacn_scholarship/76107013/.

    American Association of Critical-Care Nurses

    • The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses offers a $3,000 scholarship to help nurses enrich their careers by pursuing master's degrees. Scholarship applicants must identify and evaluate individual learning opportunities and explain how an AACN scholarship will help achieve their professional goals. Eligible programs include nursing practices that focus on communication, collaboration, mediation, leadership and governance, organizational effectiveness, informatics, political processes, safety and quality.
