In order to qualify for NCEMNA's scholarship award, you must be nominated through membership in an ethnic nurses association, like NBNA. The selection process for each nominee also requires that you currently attend or apply to a four-year or master's program, have a letter of reference, demonstrate leadership and write a statement of your career goals. Each year $2,000 is awarded to one student per association. Deadlines vary per association.
Offered through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), the ONS Foundation and the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC), all awards are open to ethnic minorities interested in careers in oncology nursing. Application deadlines vary. All ONS and ONCC awards are available after May of each year. ONS Foundation grants are available in March. Recipients of ONS and ONS Foundation awards are notified in April.
