Raise the Nation's Scholarships for Continuing Education is awarded twice a year to single mothers who would like to return to higher education and who are denied education grants. Applicants must be accepted or currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution. Applications must be postmarked by August 1 for fall term with an expected disbursement of Sept. 30; and Dec. 1, with an expected disbursement of Jan. 30, for spring term. There is an application fee of $20.

Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation awards five Education Support Awards of up to $2,000 to low-income women with children. The applicant must be 17 years old or older with minor children and pursuing a GED, ESL, first bachelor's degree or post-graduate degree. She must have a low-income family. Applications must be postmarked by July 15.

Soroptimist offers Women's Opportunity Awards to women who are the sole financial support for their family. Applicants must have financial need, be enrolled in or accepted to a vocational school or four-year institution, reside in one of the Soroptimist International countries or territories and have not previously received the same scholarship. Applications are due by email by Dec. 1 each year so that they can be emailed to the appropriate local branch.
